The following people would have all been better off, if religion were not in the world. These are innocent victims who have suffered from the drug of religion, or at the hands of its addicts. Religion, like cocaine, doesn’t turn everyone into raving lunatics, but for those it does, society pays the cost in pain, suffering, and oft times even death. When it comes to religion, be smart- don't even start.

Reverend Kyle Killed by Biblegod- in a Baptismal !!!

BibleGod, who used to throw thunderbolts into people in the bad old days, prefers a more modern touch today.  Rev. Kyle Lake, age 33, was electrocuted Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 at University Baptist Church in Waco (where else?) Texas, as he was trying to baptize a woman. (I wonder if the woman ran the hell out of there screaming??? I sure would have!). Need I point out had Kyle been one of the 40 million plus Atheists in this country, he'd still be alive. Be that as it may, it is certainly a sign that BibleGod is pissed off at University Baptist Church, maybe for their Christian rock music being too loud- after all, BibleGod is pretty old and as they say, if it's too loud you're too old. Of course, it could also be a sign that maybe the Baptists and the Church of Christers have been wrong about baptism by immersion- Kyle would still be alive today had it been sprinkling rather than immersion. Or it could be a sign that Kyle had been killed for "lusting in his heart" (damn those see-thru baptismal gowns!!!)???. Again- not an issue with sprinkling. Or, then again, it could be a sign that there's something really screwed up with the wiring of the P.A. system at that church (and they'd better use a licensed union electrician next time rather than Jose' the day laborer hanging out in front of Home Depot.) Bottom line is this: it proves beyond a doubt that BibleGod doesn't protect "his" people, not even in "his" church, and not even in the middle of a baptism. So Fundies beware: BibleGod might pull a "Job" on you or your family members at any time for no better reason than just because he's bored and making bets with BibleDevil.

Christian Coalition Head Resigns

Lou Beres (70), the man in charge of the Christian Coalition of the entire state of Oregon, resigned his post after being accused of sexual molestation by not one, not two, but THREE of his female relatives. Of course, we all know that Christians are perfect and would never do this sort of thing, so therefore all three of his "female relatives" must be flaming Satan worshippers out to besmirch the good name of a devoted godly man.

Christian Mother Cuts Off  Daughter's Arms

Dena Schlosser, 35, chopped the little arms off her eleven month old daughter Margaret. Dena, no doubt a Pro-Bush staunch "right to lifer" out to prevent any one from having an abortion, didn't think twice about killing her own child. She had calmly cut her baby's arms off while listening to Christian hymns playing on her stereo.  When police arrived, the devout Christian was sitting in her living room, holding a knife and drenched in blood with the church music still playing. Her baby was in the bedroom, armless and bleeding to death. She later died at the hospital, safe from her mother's Christian care. Her husband John told police that the night before she had said she wanted to "give her children to God" because that's what the Bible said to do. They attended the "Water of Life Church" in Plano, Texas, where the preacher Mr. Davidson teaches that doctors aren't necessary because people can be healed if their faith is "in the right place."

Mormon Scholar- Disfellowshipped for Being Honest

Grant Palmer, 64, a fourth generation Mormon church director and educator for 34 years, who has spent his whole life studying the Mormon church, came up with the "wrong" conclusions and has been disfellowshipped from the Mormon Church. Grant has a Master's degree from BYU in history. It seems as if his book, "An Insider's View of Mormon Origins" proves that Mormon founder Joe Smith played fast and free with Mormon scriptures, and now Grant is being punished for not having the common sense to shut the hell up about it. Once again, free speech and religion do NOT get along!

Minister- Incest with THREE Daughters

The minister's three daughters appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show last week to confess how their minister dad molested them on a daily basis for over a decade. At the minister's trial he was sent to prison to 36 years in prison. Of course, the Rev. Ted Hendrix, formerly of the Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church will repent, start a prison ministry, and get out early because "he's a Christian".

Boy Enslaved Into Church Choir

A 13 year old orphan boy from Zambia, Africa, was lured into a traveling Texas church choir with false promises of "we'll send money back to your brothers and sisters."  The reality was the choir being forced to perform up to seven times a day different locations & times, forced to sing even when sick, and if they COULDN'T sing even when forced, they wouldn't be fed.

Man Chops His Tongue Off as Sacrifice

A 22 year old Indian man, Prasanta Palei, walked into a temple of a Hindu goddess in eastern India, and chopped his tongue, hoping the gesture would influence his gods into getting him a job.

3 Children's Heads Bashed In = 2 Dead, 1 Crippled Tyler, Texas Orange County Register, March 30, 2004, page: News 10 & other sources

God told Deanna Laney, the 39 year old mother of three boys, to kill her sons by bashing their brains in with a VERY large rock. Her defense attorney pointed out that "The dilemma she faced is a terrible one for a mother," Files told the jury. "Does she follow what she believes to be God's will, or does she turn her back on God?"  Joshua, 8, and Luke, 6, died, while younger brother Aaron, 14 months old, suffered serious brain injury. Laney believed God had told her the world was going to end and "she had to get her house in order," which included killing her children, who would then shortly be resurrected. The "deeply religious East Texas woman", a choir member, vocalist, and volunteer worker at the 250 member First Assembly of God in Tyler, who home-schooled her children in New Chapel Hill,  wept when the prosecutors showed the courtroom the gruesome and graphic photographs of the bashed in skulls. She killed her children on, of all weekends, Mother's Day weekend (!) in 2003. Deanna Laney said Luke was lying on his back, his head against a rock, as she stood over him and hammered a sandstone the size of a dinner plate into his skull several times. "He kept gurgling," she said. "He kept breathing and I knew he had to die. So I got this rock and I put it over his chest and I held it over his chest."

TYLER, Texas - In a videotape played at her murder trial Wednesday, a sobbing Deanna Laney described how she smashed her sons' skulls with rocks after getting a sign from God that he wanted her to kill them.   "I believed with all my heart that it was the Lord telling me that, but I couldn't figure out why," Laney, 39, told psychiatrist Dr. Park Dietz seven months after the killings last Mother's Day weekend. Laney broke down several times as she described the attacks.

Six Year Old Girl Killed in Exorcism
January 2004, Atlanta, Georgia

ATLANTA (AP)--A 6-year-old girl was found dead in a motel room with a broken back Monday after what police said may have been an exorcism. Two adults were arrested after they and two children were spotted on the street naked in the freezing cold.

The adults, who had been staying in the motel room, were charged with cruelty to children, public indecency and obstruction of police and were taken to a psychiatric ward.

Police said the girl had been brutalized and suffered a broken back and other broken bones. An autopsy was planned.

Based on what the adults told authorities, investigators believe ``they were involved possibly in a ritual of some sort,'' police spokesman John Quigley said. ``It may have had something to do with undemonizing the child in some manner.''

Police learned of the death around 12:30 a.m. when the unidentified man and woman were seen walking naked down a city street with two children, ages 2 and 7, Quigley said.

The 7-year-old provided investigators with information that led them to the motel, where they found the girl's body.

The two adults had apparently been living there for some time, possibly through assistance from a church, Quigley said.

A religious movement started by Wavoka, aka Jack Wilson, which became popular among many western tribes of the American Indians. It taught that if they wore special sacred shirts and danced the sacred dance, then the bullets of the white men would not be able to pass thru the shirt. They were wrong, and many died in their beliefs. One such battle was that of Wounded Knee in 1890, wherein men, women, and children wore the "bulletproof" shirts, but died anyway.

LAGOS, Nigeria (Nov. 22, 2002) - Rioting by mobs of Muslims and Christians in the northern Nigerian city of Kaduna has killed as many as 100 people and seriously injured 500 others, Red Cross officials said Friday as thousands of residents sought refuge in army bases and police stations.

Mobs of Christian youths retaliated against Muslims on Friday in the third day of riots triggered by a newspaper article suggesting Islam's founding prophet would have approved of the Miss World beauty pageant......

Sporadic gunshots and shouting could be heard Friday morning by Kaduna residents who were still hiding in fear inside their homes. Angry mobs have stabbed and set fire to bystanders, while others have burned churches and rampaged through streets.

On Friday morning, plumes of black smoke rose above the city from makeshift barricades lit by angry mobs. Authorities extended a round-the-clock curfew, although large numbers of people were ignoring the order.

In the neighborhoods of Ungwa-Rome and Larayi - areas dominated by minority Christians - witnesses said mobs of youths smashed windows and set fires in mosques used by the ethnic Hausa and Fulani Muslims who dominate Kaduna, a cosmopolitan city of several million people.......

Street demonstrations began Wednesday with the burning of an office of ThisDay newspaper in Kaduna after the Lagos-based daily published an article questioning Muslim groups that have condemned the Miss World pageant, to be held Dec. 7 in the Nigerian capital, Abuja.

Muslim groups say the pageant promotes sexual promiscuity and indecency..........

At least four churches were destroyed in the rioting, Ijewere said.


Young men shouting ''Allahu Akhbar,'' or ''God is great,'' ignited makeshift street barricades made of tires and garbage, sending plumes of black smoke rising above the city. Others were heard chanting, ''Down with beauty'' and ''Miss World is sin.''

Previous riots in Kaduna, a largely Muslim city with a sizable Christian minority, have escalated into religious battles that killed hundreds since civilian government replaced military rule in 1999.

Islamic fundamentalist groups have for several months warned of protests against the Miss World pageant, prompting organizers to postpone the finale until after the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

The pageant has also drawn protests from other parts of the world.

Contestants from five countries - Costa Rica, Denmark, Switzerland, South Africa and Panama - are boycotting the event because Islamic courts in Nigeria have sentenced several unmarried women to death by stoning for conceiving babies outside wedlock death by stoning for conceiving babies outside wedlock. Four Kids Starved to Death

A "deeply religious" family starved four of their adopted children to death. The four used to be taken to church regularly by their loving Christian parents. The eldest child- 19 years old- weighed around 50 pounds. The parents had locked the adopted kids out of the kitchen, though fed their biological kids just fine. What I saw on TV really sickened me: When the parents were released on bail, their fellow church members at the "Come Alive New Testament Church" cheered them like they were heroes. Not one of their fellow Christians appeared to see anything wrong in starving four kids to death.

Passengers on a United Airlines jet had to tie up a crazy Christian with duct tape because he "became agitated after reading the Bible." He was reading the Bible aloud- SO loud as to be shouting! (Gotta let everybody hear the good news, ya know- just MIGHT save some from hell!!! When you got GOOD NEWS, ya can't just keep it to yourself!!!). When his LOUD reading made a child cry several rows away, he said he needed to help the child, and pushed past a flight attendant in a rush to get to the child. At this, his fellow passengers had had enough, and several overcame the religious nut and duct tapped him. Please note that this happened almost two years to the day when some OTHER religious nuts took over four planes and crashed them. Just gotta watch those religious nuts on planes!  Brian Kane Eager, 36 years old and six months out of prison, was arrested by the FBI after the plane landed. His elder brother was quoted as saying "While he was in prison, he found religion, as many people do. He became very LOUD and Bible thumping." THANK YOU, CHUCK COLSON, for messing up yet ANOTHER poor guy stuck in prison!!!

Religion Ruined This Marriage

This was a letter to "Dear Abbey" as found in the Orange County Register, July 19, 2002

Dear Abbey:  I am a 52 year old man married to "Sarah," the most wonderful woman I have ever met. She is intelligent, ethical, witty, pretty, healty- a great mother and grandmother. She means the world to me.

    About 10 years ago Sarah "rededicated herself to God" and lost all interest in sharing an emotional, romantic and physical connection with me. She immersed herself in her church, Bible studies, our children, cats and pottery making.

    She seems happy with this life. I am not. I want more than a brother-sister relationship with my wife. I want to travel, go dancing, hold her hand at the movies- and to make love together.

    Our marriage counselor says we may never meet each other's needs and should consider going our separate ways. However, I do not believe a man should leave his wife and family, and Sarah feels the same. Everyone would hate me if I left her- the community, our children and Sarah herself.

    I cannot imagine living 30 more years without the love I need in my life, yet I don't like the choices of divorce or loneliness. Abby, is there a third choice I'm not seeing? An affair is out of the question.

Beating a Boy Senseless for Jesus

An eleven year old boy was caught cheating on a Bible test in church. As punishment,  Pastor Joshua Thompson, of Capitol City Baptist Church, and the Pastor's brother, beat the boy with a stick for over an hour. They beat him so much the boy's kidneys failed, and he ended up in the hospital in fair condition. I guess they were giving the boy a taste of that "old time religion".

In 1978, 900 Christian followers of the Rev. Jim Jones (an ordained Christian minister) decided to end their lives in order to escape into a better world in the “afterlife”. These victims of Christianity were not all a bunch of mad, raving lunatics. The parishioners who administered the poisoned cool-aid were medical doctors and nurses, and many of the faithful were college graduates. Were it not for their Christian belief in a better afterlife, this tragedy would have never happened. If these people had all been atheists, rather than members of the church People’s Temple, they would have never killed themselves to escape into a mythical afterlife.

David Koresh and his Christian church, the Branch Dividians, when surrounded by federal agents, decided to escape where no federal agents could follow-- they escaped into the mythical Christian afterlife. Christian dogma directly led to the deaths of these innocent people. If the Branch Dividian compound had been, say, a nudist colony/Elks Club/Rotary Club etc., rather than a church, do you think the people would have fought it out and chosen mass suicide as the “only option”??? Of course not. If these people had all been secular humanists they would have still been alive. Their Christianity killed them, and their kids.

Alisa Izquierdo, age 6, was TORTURED TO DEATH by her mother who thought the little girl was POSSESSED BY THE DEVIL.

"Alisa's body displayed a road map of pain so frightful that the paramedics who tried to revive her needed counseling. Dozens of small bruises and apparent cigarette burns dotted her skin. A BONE was protruding from her right pinky, one of SEVERAL broken fingers...Police believe the other used the child's head to clean the floor on Halloween...But when Awilda Lopez looked at her third-oldest daughter, SHE SAW SATAN, police said. 'SHE'S SHOWING NO EMOTION BECAUSE SHE BELIEVES SHE DID THE RIGHT THING,' Lt. Luis Ganzales said. 'She believes her daughter was possessed by the devil.'  Lopez admitted that SHE SMASHED THE FIRST-GRADER'S HEAD AGAINST A CEMENT WALL MONDAY, police said."

"An evangelist minister urged his suffocating followers to stay with him in a church and 'feel the presence of the Lord' as toxic fumes took thirty lives, including his own...The three survivors (who had fled in time) described a macabre scene as the minister, identified as Ramon Almazan, urged people to stay calm as they began to choke on the fumes (from a faulty butane lamp) and vomit or faint. "Let Christ come in and stay with us, do not be afraid," he was quoted as saying as his own daughter slumped to the floor."

Meyers said...The Halls are members of the Faith Assembly Church, based in Noble County...A second Indiana couple face sentencing next month for letting their 9 month old daughter die from an untreated bacterial meningitis...The Fort Wayne News-Sentinel newspaper says IT HAS DOCUMENTED 88 WHO HAVE DIED AFTER THEY OR THEIR PARENTS FOLLOWED THE SECT'S TEACHING... NOTE:  Once again, we read of Christians showing no human emotions for the horrendous crimes they have done against humanity. The reason they showed no emotion is because IN THEIR MINDS they believe they had done the right thing. They had only been obeying what the Christian Bible teaches, in the book of James:

 

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.  (James 5:14,15, NASB).

Woman Killed During “Exorcism”

Mrs Chung Jae Chung, 53 year old minister’s wife.

On July 4, 1996, in Los Angeles, a 53 year old Korean woman (formerly a missionary to China) died from "blunt force trauma," the result of an exorcism. Her husband (a minister) and two other males, one a Deacon at Glendale Korean Methodist Church, beat her with their fists and feet for several hours, trying to drive "the devil" out of her. She had consented to the exorcism. As usual, the news media neglected to connect a terrible event such as this with Christianity or churches. The above details were learned from a radio interview with the husband’s attorneys. Needless to say, if Mrs. Chung had never set foot inside a church, she would never have died like this.

Yet Another Massacre

 “Another Massacre:  Armed men killed 64 people in an attack on a rural hamlet outside the capital of Algeria, crying, “God is great” at each slaying. Many of those killed in the massacre in Souane on Thursday had their throats slit…  The Armed Islamic Group is trying to topple Algeria’s military-backed government and install an Islamic state based on strict interpretation of Muslim holy law.”

NOTE:  The on-going bad news from Algeria continues to pour in at too fast a rate to keep up with. Just a week after the above massacre, more than 300 people in another village had their throats slit [God is great, isn’t he??? Man Convicted To Die For Apostasy

Hussein Qambar Ali, age 45.  Kuwait

A Muslim man who was convicted to die for the crime of apostasy in Kuwait has been smuggled into the United States. He was found guilty by a Shiite religious court of apostasy on May 29, 1996, as he had converted from Islam to Christianity two years prior. The court recommended that under Islamic Law (Sharia)  that Hussein “should be killed.”

Cut Off Woman’s Head for God

Deborah Lewis, 27, gas station clerk.

Cause of death: “God told him to do it”

Deborah Lewis lost her head to Samuel Lee Ivery in 1992 after God had told Samuel to “cut off the woman’s head” while he was robbing the gas station in Mobile, Alabama, of $302. Samuel had been diagnosed by mental heath experts as a paranoid schizophrenic. Samuel was also suspected of two similar slayings in July 1992, in East St. Louis, Ill.

High Speed Chase/Evasion of Police Due to “Mission from God”

Tina Berger, 41.

Cause of chase: God told her to.

Tina Berger’s 130 mile high speed chase ended   “as California Highway Patrol officers with guns drawn surrounded the car and arrested (the) San Clemente woman.” She was “taken to a Ventura mental hospital for observation and charged with speeding, evading police and reckless driving.”  She told officers that she had been on a mission from God, and was on her way to Santa Barbara (at up to 100 mph) to take over a minister’s position, and then return home.

Marshall Applewhite, son of a Presbyterian minister, ex-student at Union Theological Seminary, ex-Church choir leader, ex- Catholic college music prof, led his mostly college educated flock in a mass suicide (discovered March 26, 1997 Rancho Santa Fe, CA) in a joyful but idiotic attempt to catch a ride on a supposed UFO hiding behind the comet Hale-Bopp. Bibles and Heaven’s Gate manuals were kept side by side.

778 Murdered, 500 Via Burning Causing Heads to Explode

Cause of Death:  Trusting Their Church Leaders

The Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God Church

Kanungu, Uganda  March 17, 2000

500 members (mostly women and children) of this group were burned alive within their own church by their own leaders after too many complained about the leaders messing up on their “end of the world” predictions. (They had been told the world would end on June 30, 1999, and had been commanded to sell off everything they owned, and the men had to give their wives over to the church leaders.) The doors and windows had been nailed shut.  “Police say four canisters of sulphuric acid were placed at each corner of the building and mixed with water to create a violent reaction that would precipitate the blaze. Petrol was also sprinkled about the room. The intense heat, exemplified by the way the heads exploded and brains liquefied, suggest that it was all over very quickly.” Hundreds more who weren’t in the church building were later poisoned.

Hindus and Muslims, India

A train carrying Hindu religious fanatics was stopped and burned by a mob of Muslim religious fanatics, killing 57. This sparked religious riots in several towns in India. Gas bombs being tossed into houses burned many alive. Any who escaped the burning houses- even little five-year-old children- were faithfully hacked to death by the faithful, or they were pinned down, doused with gasoline, and re-ignited. Many Muslim women were gang-raped by hordes of horny Hindus, after which the women were burned alive.

CAUTION: Overdosing on Religion
can be
Hazardous to One's Health

If religionists will not admit to religion being harmful, will they at least admit to an overdose of religion being harmful? Too much of ANY thing can be harmful, even kittens. Imagine having a single little kitten in a small room with you- cute, right? Now picture yourself in the same little room, but this time stuffed with 64,000 kittens- stuffed to the point where you're suffocating to death- harmful, right? Likewise, religion.

As the Beatles said in a song, "I read the news today, oh boy" and what I came to realize while reading the newspaper for today was that too much religion can also be harmful, as seen in FOUR articles in just ONE DAY's newspaper: the Orange County Register, for Wednesday, July 13, 2005. Given so many stories about the harms of overdosing on religion in just one day's reporting for one newspaper, is it still too much to ask responsible Christian, Muslim, and Jewish leaders to publicly admit the obvious:  overdosing on religion can be hazardous to the health of oneself and others, and to caution people that we should practice moderation in all things- even religion.

Possible Solution to Religious Fanaticism:  KILL ALL FANATICS
I was sent this suggestion by a reader: How about if all of us, whenever we meet a fanatic (Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu), how about if we pull them to the side... and KILL them. Kill them on the spot. Don't give them a chance to blossom into an abortion clinic bomber, a suicide bomber,  mosque bomber, or an acid thrower. Imagine if everyone in the world adopted this tactic- the world would shortly be free of religious crazies. What's the alternative- letting one of these fanatical groups take over the entire world???  What do you think???
